Welcome to the Photo Galleries

Thank you for checking out our various gallery pages. Our galleries are presented in one of two different formats.

Most of our newer galleries will be presented as a Macromedia-based Flash slide shows. Flash Player is already installed on some 90% of all personal computers so the slide shows should function without any intervention. While the slide shows will require readers to have Flash Player version 7 or later installed, there will always be an alternate page available for those that do not. These alternate pages will present all images that would have been available in the Flash-based slide show, but without using the Flash technology. If you wish to install the player, or if you are not sure if you already have the player installed, the individual gallery pages will provide a link to the Macromedia site to download and install the player.

Some of our original galleries are presented as a photo essay in which Scenic Sensations believed that good photographs should tell a story. While each individual picture "is worth a thousand words", we still put the photographs into context with commentary including such items as where the images were taken. We thought you might be interested to know whether they were from digital or film cameras and what some of the basic camera settings were. In addition, most of the actual images in these galleries can be enlarged by clicking on them. This will open a pop-up window containing a larger version of the image and a caption describing the particular photograph. To close this pop-up and return to the story, simply use the mouse to click anywhere on the page (use either the left or the right mouse button). The photograph above has this feature. The individual galleries are organized and indexed by either location or by subject - but not both. This means that gallery entries in one listing, and the contained photographs, will likely not be repeated in the other. To visit all galleries and review all images, be sure to check out both gallery listings.
