Workshop Participation Conditions

What is generally included in our Workshops?

Our workshops are generally fairly inclusive. We feel that when you register, you want to know what your complete costs will be and so we try to provide as much of the travel experience along with the actual workshop as we can. However, sometimes it will be impractical for a particular workshop to include all arrangements that may normally be included.

Following is a list of what is normally included:

  • all hotel/motel rooms and/or others forms of lodging while on the workshop
  • all transportation while attending the workshop (excludes transportation to/from the workshop start/end locations and your home)
  • all group sessions during the workshop schedule
  • costs associated with any guides at specific locations if necessary, entrance fees and permits required for our various shoot locations during the workshop

Following is a partial list of what is normally not included

  • transportation from your present location to our workshop originating location and transportation from our final workshop destination back to your home location
  • meals or snacks
  • entertainment beyond anything that may be directly connected with the workshop itself
  • photographic and storage equipment (such as digital or film cameras lenses, laptop computers, CD burners, storage media cards, etc.) or any other materials you may need in support of your photography

For specific exceptions to these general guidelines, be sure to check the specific workshop that interests you.

How do we make our Workshop Travel Arrangements?

Any arrangements that we do on your behalf as workshop participants are done through either reputable travel agents or directly between ourselves and our service providers. We do bulk bookings of lodgings, car rental agencies, guides, etc. in order to obtain competitive rates for our guests. It is for this reason that we must have a minimum number of attendees in order for any given workshop to proceed at the published price. We will look for comfortable yet practical lodgings close to our intended shoot locations and practical vehicles for any necessary car rentals. This will include the rental of SUV class of vehicles when off-road travel is planned or regular sedan class vehicles if all travel is expected to be by paved road. All this to say, we will make arrangements as dictated by the specific needs of the particular workshop being planned.

What is our Workshop Registration Process?

The registration process is simple and straight-forward. Once a workshop is announced with all specifics, especially rates, booking will be accepted. Initial booking will be by you're sending an email expressing your explicit interest and providing key personal information including the full names of all participants, contact addresses and telephone numbers. In response, we will send to you via regular mail, our full written booking form to be completed in full before. This form must be returned to us with payment in full. This payment must be provided by certified cheque, bank draft or money order (Visa and Mastercard are currently not accepted but we expect to do so in the near future as and if demand warrants). Upon receipt of your registration and payment and approximately three weeks prior to the workshop, final workshop particulars will be sent also via regular mail. Then, its time to get ready to meet us at the workshop location.

Remember, to be fair to all, reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis and group sizes are always limited.

What is our Workshop Cancellation Policy?

If you need to cancel your registration for any reason whatsoever more than 15 days prior to the workshop start date, we will refund all monies paid except for an initial cancellation penalty of 20% of the original registration fee. If you need to cancel your registration within the final 15 days prior to the workshop start date, we will refund 50% of the original registration fees with the remainder being retained as a cancellation fee. However, if we can re-book your spot to somebody else, we will refund all monies paid except for 10% of the original registration fees paid with that 10% being retained as a final cancellation fee.

If we need to cancel the workshop for any reason whatsoever, we will provide a maximum of a full refund of the original registration fee with no further liability for consequential or inconsequential damages.

There will be no exceptions to this cancellation policy.
